12:00pm - The registration platform has returned to expected behavior.

Tuesday, August 29 - 8:50am - The Registrar's office is aware of slowness as their registration platform responds to the spikes in demand for Phase II of registration. Users may experience long load times or errors. Application and database administrators are investigating.

ISSUE:
To perform operating system updates, the following systems will be unavailable Friday, August 25, 2023, from 7:00 p.m. until Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 11:30 p.m.:
*    Banner 9 AdminPages
*    Banner Workflow (WWIS)
*    Esign Administrative Web Forms
*    eInvoice and eProcurement
*    Web4U (All Banner Self-Service features in WWIS)
*    DataTransfer
*    Registration and Waitlisting
*    DegreeWorks
Data warehouse refreshes and job submission chains will not run overnight on Friday, August 25, into Saturday morning. Data warehouse refresh and job submission chains will resume on the next regularly scheduled run.
ACTION REQUIRED:
Please close out of the systems listed above, log off, or shut down your workstation before Friday, August 25, at 7:00 p.m. You can log back into your computer, but you will not be able to use the affected systems until after August 26, at 11:30 p.m.

Notification: Planned Network Outage on September 17th, 2023

ISSUE:

To perform critical maintenance on the university’s core networking equipment, all networking will be down, Sunday, September 17, 2023, from 7:00 a.m. – noon.

 

ACTION REQUIRED:

No action is required, but you will not be able to use the network during the maintenance window.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This outage window is required to replace the hardware for the university’s core network firewalls. These devices provide security to the campus network and connectivity to remote sites. Networks impacted include:

  • All wired and wireless.
  • Internet access from campus and from remote sites (Lakewood, Shannon Point Marine Center, Small Business Development Center).
  • Any services hosted in the university’s datacenter.
  • Web4U and Banner.
  • Cloud-hosted applications that use your username & password through the Central Authentication Service (CAS) for single sign-on.

 

Note: cloud-hosted applications that use Microsoft authentication (username@wwu.edu) will work from off-campus (e.g., Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook and Teams).

8/10/23, 7:00 AM: Access to ARGOS is currently unavailable with an error displayed of MAPS not accepting connections right now. Staff are investigating now. 

Emergency Phones intermittently unavailable in CF/AI/AW August 9th, 7-8am

The maintenance has concluded without issue. 

 

Tomorrow morning, August 9th, 2023, from 7am to 8am, the telephony gateway will be undergoing configuration maintenance during this time to prepare for network upgrades in the near future. 

As a result, the emergency phones in the CF, AI and AW buildings will be unavailable intermittently during this time frame.

WWUwireless-Secure Down for Maintenance Last Night

Status: Resolved

To complete the update to the university’s wireless network, service to WWUwireless-Secure had to be taken offline last night, Tuesday, July 25, 2023, for a short period.

After last night's update, you may need to "forget" the WWUwireless-Secure network on your device before you can reconnect to it.

If you need to use a wireless network between noon and 1:00 p.m. today, please use WWUwireless or WWUwireless-Guest. After the update is complete, you may need to "forget" the WWUwireless-Secure network on your device before you can reconnect to it.

Select Applications Offline for Extended Maintenance, July 19, 2023

Maintenance has concluded. Another maintenance window to resolve the database server issues will be scheduled in the near future.

To resolve a database server issue, the following applications will be offline or have limited functionality on Wednesday, July 19, beginning at 9:00 a.m.:

  • Ellucian CRC
  • HR EPAS
  • Lenel OnGuard
  • Titanium Schedule
  • RightFax

Some smaller applications with more limited use will be impacted as well.

Universal Password Reset Page unavailable

07.06.2023, 12:06 p.m. - The universal password reset page is working once more.

07.06.2023, 11:00 a.m. - This morning it was discovered that the password reset page for universal accounts is not currently working. Attempting to reset a password will present the error "We're sorry. You can't unlock your account because your organization is currently experiencing connectivity problems." Our network admins are investigating the cause and working to resolve the issue.

People looking to claim their universal account will need to wait until this issue is resolved in order to set their initial password.
