*** UPDATES ***

10/29/2025 7:00 p.m. -

Microsoft has announced this issue is resolved.

10/29/2025 1:30 p.m. -

Microsoft has deployed a healthy configuration to their environment and is continuing work to redirect traffic to known good resources. They anticipate some improvement in access but there may still be some aspects of M365 inaccessable.

10/29/2025 11:50 a.m. -

Microsoft continues to implement mitigations to restore service while they work to fix the outage fully. We've been made aware that some single sign-on (SSO) applications are slow to authenticate using Universal Accounts, such as the SBO Payment Portal, likely as a result of this outage.

10/29/2025 10:30 a.m. -

Microsoft has identified a potential root cause and is working on implementing fixes.

10/29/2025 9:30 a.m. -

This is a nationwide outage and Microsoft is working to restore service by rerouting traffic to healthy infrastructure as a short-term fix while they investigate a root cause.

Change in Login Process for Web4U and Banner 9 Admin Pages

Status: Resolved

Starting on Friday, September 5, 2025, the way you log in to Banner 9 Admin Pages and Web4U will change to match the same secure login experience of other commonly used apps at Western like Microsoft 365 and Canvas.

This update adds an extra layer of protection with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to better safeguard your information and Western’s data. You won’t need to do anything in advance - your login will update automatically.

What this means for you:

  • You’ll log in the same way you do for Microsoft 365 and Canvas.
  • You’ll occasionally confirm your identity with MFA (such as a text or app notification).
  • No action is required from you until the change goes into effect.

Thank you for keeping Western’s systems secure!
