6:30am - An issue occurred overnight that has prevented some systems from being available. Updates will be posted as the extent of the issue is investigated.

Banner Jobs Unavailable

4/17/24 1:13 p.m. - The data warehouse rebuild is complete. 

4/17/24 9:04 a.m. - Banner access is restored. Data warehouse will still need to rebuilt.

4/17/24 8:00 a.m. - Banner jobs are unavailable this morning.  Banner lost connection with its core file server last night while the file server was installing updates.  Overnight Banner jobs did not run, and Banner services will be unavailable until the system is fully restarted.

Data Warehouse builds are incomplete from last night and will need to be rebuilt. As such, data contained within may not be accurate until the rebuild is complete.

Degree Works to be Unavailable, 04.18.2023 from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

To perform necessary maintenance and improve performance, Degree Works will be unavailable on Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Western Hosted Services Unavailable

4:25pm - Services have been restored. All production systems are back online.

8:22am - Network slowness has been addressed and should be back to normal. 

4/8/24 8:10am - Systems remained stable through the weekend. Rightfax and some print systems are still impacted. This morning at 8am network slowness was identified and is currently being investigated. 

5:07pm - Core Production Banner services are functional. Web4U, FAST and Degree Works are back. Test systems may still be down. Other services continue to be reviewed and restored.

3:11pm - The server cluster has not yet completely stabilized. Assume all systems are still down as of right now. Services not hosted by Western such as your email and Canvas remain accessible. 

2:52pm - Argos has been reported to have additional impacts. Printing should be available once more. FAST requires some additional work before it can be used. Web4U is still down. We anticipate most systems should be back online by 5pm. This post will be updated as more services are restored. 

1:35pm - Argos is back online. Other services are being stepped through to ensure they are operating correctly. We anticipate most systems should be back online by 5pm. This post will be updated as more services are restored. 

12:01pm - A cluster outage has been identified that is causing many Western hosted service to be impacted. A list is being compiled and this post will be updated with a more comprehensive list. Access to Web4U, FAST, Degree Works are known to be down. Our team is working to restore access as soon as possible. 

Access to your email, Microsoft 365 products and Canvas should still be available. 

10:20am - Most licensing services are restored. ITS is working with Oxford AzTec and Nutritionist Pro vendors to restore those services.

Banner Databases & Millennium FAST Down

3/26/24, 9:15am - ITS Engineers are working to triage the outage of a server node which impacts Banner, Millennium FAST, and Esign. We are aware this is a critical time for these services to be up and running and are working to restore services as quickly as possible.

To apply important dependencies required by a critical upcoming release, the following systems will be unavailable Thursday, March 28, from 10:00 a.m. until Friday, March 29, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.

• Password change
• Esign Administrative Web Forms

• Transact Cashnet connector and lookup

 All scheduled jobs that interact with the database server will be halted Thursday, March 28, from 10:00 a.m. until Friday, March 29, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. These include the Data warehouse refreshes, job submission chains, and most interfaces to 3^rd party systems. These jobs will resume their regular schedules when the system is returned to service. 

Contract Management (CMM) Unavailable

Due to an unexpected server issue on the vendor's side, CMM is currently unavailable. They are working to resolve the issue.

WWU Website Migrations

3/19/24 5pm - All systems reported down are now online, with the exception of Transact InstantID.

3/19/24 3pm - MillenniumFAST production and Test are restored. Printing functions and the CBE Decision Sciences server are also online.

3/19/24 9:30am - The MillenniumFAST application is not loading. Users will see a 503 Service Unavailable error. MillFAST test is down as well.

3/18/24 9:30am -- ITS is continuing work to address system outages that first began on Saturday 3/16. Banner is redirecting to our System Outage page while PPRD is worked on. Libloan is working on the backend but still throwing errors. The student printing release page is not loading. We thank you for your patience while servers are being worked on.
