Microsoft 365 Stream videos

Where to find Stream videos that have been migrated from Microsoft 365 groups

During the migration of Stream (Classic) content to Stream (on Sharepoint), videos may be moved to different locations based on ownership.  This tutorial walks through the process of finding Stream videos that were originally contained in Microsoft 365 groups.

Overview

Essentially, Stream (Classic) videos that were originally contained in a Microsoft 365 group will be migrated to an analogous SharePoint site, in a folder call "Stream Migrated Videos."

Stream (Classic) videos may not be visible or editable for several days after the time of migration.  If your videos do not appear in Stream (on SharePoint), please wait three days and try again.

Prior links embedded in Web pages or in Canvas will be automatically redirected and will continue to function until 2/15/2025.  If migrated videos are moved or renamed, however, the redirected links will no longer function. After 2/15/2025, the redirection will no longer function and videos will need to be re-linked and embedded.

Detailed walkthrough

1.  Begin the process by logging into your Microsoft 365 account:

https://www.office.com/

2.  Once logged in, click the "App Launcher" in the upper left corner:

Location of the App Launcher.

3.  Next, click on "Outlook" from the list of applications available:

Click the "Outlook" button.

4.  If it isn't already open, click the "Groups" link to show a list of Microsoft 365 groups you own.

Click the "Groups" link.

From the list of groups that you see, click the group that corresponds with the original Stream group containing your videos.  Note that "1TS Leadership Sessions" group is used in this example.  Your group will be different.

5. In your Sharepoint group, click "Documents."  Your migrated videos will be contained in the folder "Stream Migrated Videos."

First, click the "Documents" folder, then "Stream Migrated Videos."
