Screencast-O-Matic Help

Welcome to Screencast-O-Matic

Screencast-O-Matic is a screen capture/editing tool available here at Western. It is installed in all classrooms and you can use it to capture your lectures as well as create and edit rich media for use in Canvas or anywhere else. There is no need to create an account. You simply log into the Screencast-O-Matic homepage for Western (instructions below) and use your WWU universal login to get started. If you intend to use Screencast-O-Matic for lecture capture contact Screencast-O-Matic Help or Canvas Help and let us know which room you will be using so that we can make sure it has microphones and that they are set up properly to work with Screencast-O-Matic. Please allow 1 business day for this to be completed.

Previous Screencast-O-Matic Users

If you have been using Screencast-O-Matic and initially created your account (during the pilot) with the recommended username@wwu.edu email address you should see all of your previously uploaded content when you go to your videos on the Screencast-O-Matic homepage for Western. If however, you used a first.last@wwu.edu email address instead you will not see any previously uploaded content. It will still be available under your old login and password. Please contact Screencast-O-Matic Help or Canvas Help to assist you in making that transition.
