Introducing Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365 Apps, formerly called Office 365 Pro Plus, consists of the desktop applications that have comprised Office for many years (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), in addition to more recent applications (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, OneNote and many more). Microsoft 365 Apps also provides the ability to access these applications via a web browser or via robust mobile apps. Microsoft 365 is the new parent term that includes Microsoft 365 Apps, Windows 10, and a suite of security tools to protect our data and identities.

How do I get Microsoft 365 Apps (Office)?

University-owned computers will be upgraded from Office 2016 to Microsoft 365 Apps beginning July 21, 2020. If you would like to update your university-owned computer to Microsoft 365 Apps prior to a university-wide rollout, install it from Software Center (Windows) or Self Service (Mac). If your university-owned computer is off-campus, you may need to connect to VPN first. As a student, faculty, or staff member, you also are licensed to install it on your home computers.
