Professional Development Opportunities with ATUS - Winter 2017
Interested in learning more about ways to improve your teaching effectiveness, how to use the latest educational technology, or just learn fun and exciting new skills?
ATUS provides a variety of helpful professional development opportunities for Western faculty, staff, and students on such topics as how to access your new Google G Suite account, how to fine tune your grading policy, how to record better audio and video, and how to use the audience response system, Socrative Pro.
Monday Morning Mentor
Join Justina Brown in the Center for Instructional Innovation and Assessment for short, weekly video presentations on such topics as learner engagement, strategies for enhancing discussions, critical thinking, universal design, flipped and blended learning, and much more. Connect and collaborate with peers after each presentation over coffee or tea.
Each Monday (1/23-3/13), a new online teaching strategy video is made available and accessible for seven days. Even if you cannot join us, you can watch the videos on your own via the link on the Monday Morning Mentor Canvas site (click Join this Course).
Presentations and Workshops
Every quarter, ATUS and CIIA offer several workshops, demonstrations, and presentations on relevant instructional strategies and technologies, often partnering with University partners such as Extended Education, Western Libraries, and the Learning Commons. Interested in using YouTube in your classroom? Curious about designing improved grading rubrics? Seeking to to de-stress your relationship with technology? Our professional development schedule has something for everyone!
