This chemical drawing program features chemical warnings, graphical file formats, structure perspective tool, floating periodic table and character map, LabArt, multi-page docs, stereochemistry, atom numbering, structure and style templates, a large choice of bonds and arrows, full color drawing, MS Office integration, improved graphic display and image, customizable arrow tools, color-faded shapes, and terminal carbon labeling.

The Chemistry Department funds this license and offers it free of charge to University faculty, staff, and students.

How To Get A Copy

  1. Go to the PerkinElmer store and enter your University email address in username@wwu.edu format.
  2. After you enter a qualifying email address, you will be led through the download process.

How to Install

When installing your software, if prompted for an activation code, please do the following:

  1. Go to Order History tab on the left navigation pane.
  2. Click on the applicable order #.
  3. Scroll down to the activation code on the right side.

Qualtrics Research Suite

Description: 

Qualtrics Research Suite - available to all WWU faculty, staff and students for Mac, Windows, Linux OS.

Qualtrics is a web-based survey software tool managed by the Office of Institutional Effectiveness. It is used to conduct online surveys. Qualtrics may be used to:

  • Assist faculty, staff, and students with collecting data for research project or assignments
  • Assess user satisfaction with academic or administrative programs or services
  • Collect requests for service or assistance in place of a traditional HTML form

Adobe Creative Cloud Instructional Labs

Instructional Lab Overview

Creative Cloud for Enterprise is available to install on University owned systems, both Windows and Macintosh, that are used in an instructional or technology lab accessed by WWU students. Subscriptions are renewed in November.

The installations on these lab systems use a serialized key and are referred to as anonymous installations as they do not require the user to login with an Adobe or Enterprise ID.  This also means that these systems do not have access to any of the Adobe cloud or online services.

Both Windows and Mac have two package options, All or Core. Select the one that’s the best fit for your lab (All ~20GB, Core ~11GB). Here’s a table showing the differences between the two:

SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) Premium is a data management and analysis software. Modules for data analysis include descriptive statistics such as plots, frequencies, charts, and lists, as well as more complex statistical procedures like analysis of variance (ANOVA), factor analysis, cluster analysis, and categorical data analysis.

SPSS Statistics Premium includes the following modules:

SPSS 26 will be installed in all general university labs for the 2019-2020 academic year. 

SPSS may be used for:

  • Teaching and non-commercial academic research. Non-commercial academic research means research by degree seeking students and faculty members where (i) the results of such research are not intended primarily for the benefit of a third party; (ii) such results are made available to anyone without restriction on use, copying or further distribution; and (iii) any copy of any such result is furnished for no more than the cost of hosting, reproduction, and shipping.
  • Administrative research and other administrative and operational purposes on university-owned machines only.

Licenses for CHSS, CSE, CBE, Huxley, and WCE faculty and staff have been paid by the colleges. Licenses for other faculty are $150 for administrative research. All licenses are renewable each June. 

This license also allows Work-at-Home benefits for licensed faculty, staff and students.

SPSS AMOS

Description: 

IBM SPSS Amos provides structural equation modeling (SEM) to compare, confirm and refine models. It uses Bayesian analysis to improve estimates of model parameters. Users can choose either the graphical user interface or non-graphical, programmatic interface. It is available for the Windows platform only.

AMOS is available as part of Western's SPSS Premium Campus Edition Campus Value contract and can be used for teaching and non-commercial research. It can be installed on university-owned computers for use by faculty and on workstations owned by faculty or students. 

The software is $40 per license per year renewable every June. It can also be purchased by an academic College when renewing SPSS licensing.
