Visio Online for Office 365

Description: 

Visio Plan 2 includes Visio desktop, Visio Online, and 2 GB of cloud storage on OneDrive. Visio desktop comes with a robust library of built-in and third-party templates and shapes, as well as integrated collaboration tools. It also receives all latest feature releases and enables you to connect diagrams to live data. Plus, you can store and share your diagrams online, then use your favorite browser to view and edit them through Visio Online. Both Visio and Visio Online offer collaboration through in-app comments.

Visio Plan 2 is a yearly, Microsoft add-on, subscription that's available to faculty and staff. Visio Online combines the simplicity of creating/modifying Visio diagrams in your browser with the ability to have a copy of Visio installed locally on your PC.

Included with your Visio Online license is an available local installation of Visio Professional. Once your license is authorized, it's available for download in your Office 365 software portal (https://portal.office.com/OLS/MySoftware.aspx).

How To Get A Copy

  1. Go to the PerkinElmer store and enter your University email address in username@wwu.edu format.
  2. After you enter a qualifying email address, you will be led through the download process.

How to Install

When installing your software, if prompted for an activation code, please do the following:

  1. Go to Order History tab on the left navigation pane.
  2. Click on the applicable order #.
  3. Scroll down to the activation code on the right side.

Adobe Acrobat Pro DC - Shared Device License

Acrobat Pro DC is part of Western's Adobe Creative Cloud Enterprise Agreement. It's available as an annual subscription, renewable each November.

Description: 

DocuSign has been approved by the WWU Security Officer as an acceptable solution for electronic signatures.

The US Federal ESIGN Act defines an "electronic signature" as an electronic sound, symbol, or process, attached to or logically associated with a contract or other record and executed or adopted by a person with the intent to sign the record. Electronic signatures have been used for eSigning offer letters, sales contracts, permission slips, rental/lease agreements, liability waivers, financial documents, etc. They are legally binding in most business and personal transactions in almost every country in the world.

Electronic Signatures allow users to:

  • Easily upload and send documents for electronic signature
  • Securely access and sign documents
  • Check on a document’s status, send reminders, view audit trails and securely store online

Qualtrics Research Suite

Qualtrics Research Suite - available to all WWU faculty, staff and students for Mac, Windows, Linux OS.

Qualtrics is a web-based survey software tool managed by the Office of Institutional Effectiveness. It is used to conduct online surveys. Qualtrics may be used to:

  • Assist faculty, staff, and students with collecting data for research project or assignments
  • Assess user satisfaction with academic or administrative programs or services
  • Collect requests for service or assistance in place of a traditional HTML form

Our enterprise license provides the following apps that are available to all users.

  1. Stats iQ - Qualtrics’ statistical analysis program. In this easy-to-use, user-friendly system, any user, whether they have statistical background or not,  have the ability to run statistical analysis and run regression analysis. 
  2. Driver iQ - Intelligent analysis that helps users understand key drivers buried deep within their data, and prioritize the drivers that make the most difference. Users can run analysis to understand variables that effect key drivers they are trying to measure.
  3. Text iQ - To put it simply, it’s text analytics. Text iQ helps you deep diver into your open ended responses by categorizing, and analyzing text feedback.
  4. File-Upload - Survey respondents can attach files back to the survey creator (e.g., MIT uses this feature for the application process. i.e. File Upload Survey Example)
  5. API Access - Allows various databases to push and pull data (e.g. U-Baltimore uses this to dynamically update a panel of data for respondents.) .
  6. Off-line App - Used for researchers who do data collection primarily in 3rd world countries (e.g. Clark University professor running surveys in Nicaragua.)
  7. SMS Distribution - Sending surveys through text messaging.  (Requires the implementation fee in addition to purchasing buckets of text messages.)
