Twenty-two mobile power packs, suitable for charging your laptop or mobile device, are now available for check out from the Student Technology Center.
The Omni 20 charging units can provide power to your laptop or mobile device via a USB connection or a built-in AC outlet and can now be checked-out to students for up to four hours. They hold an amazing amount of stored power in a device five inches square and about as thick as a book. The devices provide two USB ports as well as an AC outlet. They are powerful enough to charge and power your device at the same time and have smart charging technology smart enough to deliver the correct wattage to almost any device. Each power pack’s digital display allows users to keep track of how much power is remaining.
These power packs not only provide power to students working in Haggard Hall or the Wilson Library, but also have the added advantage of providing power where you want to work rather than where an outlet is available.
Four additional units are also available from the Library’s Circulation Services Desk.
Purchase of the Omni 20 power packs was funded through a 2018 Student Technology Fee proposal called “Power to the People.” This joint proposal was co-sponsored Western Libraries and ATUS.
