Introduction to the myWestern Portal

The myWestern portal is your single-stop entry into numerous web tools and websites typically used by current Western students, faculty and staff. We recommend you log into every day to have the links and the information you need.

Role-Based Tabs

Depending upon your role at Western, the portal will display different tabs. Employees will find content related to Technology and Web Forms under the “Employee” tab, while students will find this content in their “Student” tab. Faculty have their own tab as well with course listings and faculty resource links. Everyone will see a Home tab which includes a listing of “My Courses”, Western links for navigating to various campus departments, and campus announcements as well as access to the new calendaring tool. And, with greater customization, everyone has the ability to move and add new content including adding their own tabs!

What’s New?

Faculty, staff and students all have access to the new and improved myWestern portal now featuring greater customization. You can now move, add, or modify the content in the form of the channels that you want!

A new Announcements Channel has been added to the Home tab, logged in view. Announcements are classified by Topic allowing you to unsubscribe to Topics that are not pertinent to you. The current Topics that you can subscribe or unsubscribe from are:

  • Campus Events
  • Personnal & Professional Enrichment
  • Technology
  • Youth Programs
