AI Tools List
The list below identifies enterprise-level tools with artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities that have been reviewed and approved for use at Western Washington University. These tools may be used in instructional, research, and administrative contexts, subject to applicable policies and licensing requirements.
Because AI-enabled tools and vendor features evolve rapidly, this list is not exhaustive and may change over time. Tools not listed here may still be under review or may require additional evaluation before they can be approved for institutional use.
Use caution when inputting any confidential data into AI tools. Consider whether the data you share is public information or restricted data (such as FERPA-protected data). Unless otherwise noted in the table below, approved AI tools are limited to the input of public data only.
Faculty, staff, and students are responsible for following university data-classification, privacy, and security guidelines when selecting and using AI-enabled services. A complete set of descriptions for the different data classifications are available at GDL-3000.07C: Data Classification Guidelines.
