Usage Instructions
This camcorder records in high definition and is very user-friendly. Its touch screen is intuitive and has a wide variety of recording options. Different models have almost identical functionality. Newer models offer a bit more usability with advanced touch controls. It includes 3.5mm microphone input (aux cable) and many other inputs/outputs that are standard with today's video recording equipment.
We have various models of Vixia camcorders. Please refer to the call numbers associated with each model below to request a specific model. (Listed from old to new)
HFS100: HDV 1-3 (AVCHD* format only)
HFS200: DNCHDV 1-5 (AVCHD format only)
HFM500: HDV 21-32 (AVCHD & MP4, file size limited to 30 min each)
HFR300: HDV 33-42 (AVCHD & MP4, file size limited to 30 min each)
HFR400: HDV 43-62 (pictured) (AVCHD & MP4, no file size limit)
Priority for Students in Woodring College of Education:
HFR500 WHDV 01-20 (AVCHD & MP4, no file size limit)
*Content recorded in AVCHD format must be uploaded through a video editing software using a USB connection in order to view/edit.
