The Digital Media Center (DMC) hosted their second open house on November 16th 2017 drawing audiences into the film and TV studio.
Located in Haggard Hall 246, the DMC regularly helps students, professors, and professionals create quality video content. It is the mission of the DMC to further academics through film production and media creativity for Western students and professors.
The open house had lots of food and people bustling through the office, studio, and control room learning about equipment, listening to the DJ R-squared, or even playing on the DMC’s own HTC Vive virtual reality system.
The Digital Media Center staff gave tours of the facility, telling guests all about the space, equipment, and technology and even ran an instagram and Facebook livestream during the event.
“Our goal here is to get as many people across majors using the DMC telling stories and creating brilliant productions,” says Deran Browne, Digital Media Center Manager.
After the DJ wrapped up, the Hip Hop Dance Team came in and the DMC staff filmed their routine as students and other guests enjoyed the performance.
The Digital Media Center hopes to see many more students and professors alike utilizing the space and resources we have and invite you to come check it out or make an appointment if you have a specific project!
