Step inside one of several general university computer labs and you will find shiny new computers. ATUS Desktop Support was very busy over the summer intersession updating, removing and installing computers across a number of computer labs.
First on the agenda was the removal of computers from CF 165 and CF 167. This space will become a lab for the Computer Science department and will no longer be scheduled for general instruction. Other labs in the CF building received new computers with funding from the Student Technology Fee. CF 161 has new iMacs with 27” retina displays, quad-core Intel i5 processors, and solid state drives for much faster performance. Labs in CF 24 and CF 26 were updated with new Dell OptiPlex 7580 systems.
The Fine Arts building also received lab upgrades with new 27” iMacs installed into FI 101. Many of the older iMacs will be relocated upstairs to FI 211.
A reminder that to make ad hoc reservations for any of the general university computer labs, please use the Computer Lab Request Form. Once receiving this info, we can locate the most appropriate general university lab for your class.
