7/13/2018: There is an email scam making the rounds that has led to some compromised accounts. The email claims to be from an attorney in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is looking for an American to help access millions of dollars in a bank account and aid in the transfer of the money. The email itself does not have any links, but it does provide an email address. When someone contacts the email address, they may receive instructions that attempt to scam them out of money, credentials, or both. Telephone call routing and Skype for Business Voice Issues

7/10/2018 9:00 AM: EIS staff are investigating some telephone call routing issues that may cause some calls to fail to connect. There have also been reports since yesterday afternoon of Skype for Business Enterprise Voice call quality problems. Sometimes one participant is not able to hear the other, or the call will simply fail to connect. 

Banner 9 Connectivity Issues Resolved

6/20/18 8:30 AM: BI Query users are reporting errors while trying to install or connect to BI Query. One error suggests we have hit a limit on our licenses, although that is not the case. Technical staff are investigating the issue.

Reported Issues with myWestern portal

On May 23, 2018 the technology supporting myWestern became no longer viable unexpectedly and rather suddenly due to a required security upgrade. A myWestern upgrade previously planned for this spring was found to require too many modifications. At present, the campus is preparing to hold conversations on the preferred functionality for a newly designed and developed campus portal.

Until this issue is resolved, myWestern will reroute you to a page with links to many common technology resources such as Canvas, Web4U, Banner, and Office 365 (including Outlook, OneDrive, Office online apps, SharePoint, Teams, and more). You may also access that technology resource page here.
